Floodlights can be installed individually or in groups on poles over 20 meters tall to create high-pole lighting systems. Besides their aesthetic appeal, centralized maintenance, and reduced pole footprint, these systems offer a significant advantage: high lighting performance. When light is projected from a high altitude, it creates a brighter, more spacious environment with a broad light coverage area, creating a daylight-like effect. This results in high lighting quality and visual impact.
To meet minimum safety requirements for outdoor use, floodlight enclosures should have an IP3 rating (open type). To improve lamp durability and reduce maintenance, there is growing interest in enclosed floodlights with an IP55 rating, which require a higher initial investment.
To further improve the light output ratio, reflectors are trending toward block-type reflectors that minimize light obstruction and multi-focus reflectors that meet specialized lighting requirements. Surface treatments are also trending toward using new materials and processes to achieve a reflectance of over 96%. In order to reduce the weight of lamps and reduce the consumption of metal materials, the lamp housing will develop towards a plastic housing that is resistant to high temperatures, has high mechanical strength and is resistant to aging.
